It’s summer. Members of Congress are packing up and heading home. Family and friends are headed to the Outer Banks or Ocean City. If you’re a regular working stiff still grinding away in the office, it might seem like the summer is passing you by. Sure, there are plenty of things around DC to do with your kids, but it’s fun to blow off steam with your partner, friends, or co-workers. But boy, the drinks in DC are expensive!
Never fear, we’ve compiled a list of the 9 cool restaurants with outdoor seating in DC places for cheap (but good quality) drinks with outdoor patios so you can also enjoy some outdoor fun without paying high DC prices.

With over 100 beers to choose from, a scenic rooftop bar (with plenty of seating), and happy hour till 8 pm…what’s not to love? Happy hour runs seven days a week and ALL NIGHT on Thursdays. It opens at 5 pm M-F and at 11 am on the weekends for brunch. Mimosas and brunch drinks are only $3.
Ivy and Coney 1537 7th St. NW

Bring plenty of cash as they do not accept plastic.
Madhatter 1319 Connecticut Ave NW
If you’re looking for a boozy brunch…you’ve found it. Madhatter’s is famous for its bottomless mimosas and all-you-can-drink champagne for only $14. Your friends may all be at the ocean, but you don’t have to miss out on a beachy atmosphere right here in the concrete jungle. With the tiki-style drinks and tropical decor, you’ll feel like you hopped on a plane to Honolulu…without the hefty price. Their Pina Coladas get rave reviews! The libations are a tad more expensive here but are very high quality and well worth the price. Their cozy patio and pleasant atmosphere make this a must for summer fun!
NERO 1323 Connecticut AVE NW
